How to Humanize ChatGPT Text (Step by Step)
ChatGPT writes clearly, but it has a recognisable voice: evenly sized sentences, transitions like "Moreover" and "In conclusion", and a careful, hedge-heavy tone. Here's how to make that output sound like you wrote it.
Step 1 — Fix the rhythm
Read it aloud. If every sentence is the same length, break some up and merge others. A short sentence after two long ones instantly feels human.
Step 2 — Delete the filler
Remove phrases that add nothing: "It is important to note that", "In today's fast-paced world", "Furthermore", "Overall". They are the clearest AI tells.
Step 3 — Make it specific
Swap vague claims for concrete ones. "Many users prefer it" becomes "Three of the five people I asked preferred it." Specifics are what AI avoids and readers trust.
Step 4 — Add a point of view
ChatGPT stays neutral. You don't have to. A clear opinion, a small aside, or a real example separates your text from generated-sounding prose.
Step 5 — Run it through a humanizer, then check
For a fast first pass, paste it into a free humanizer that rewrites the language, then verify with an AI detector. Fix any sentence still flagged. Keep the facts; change the delivery.
A quick example
Before: "Moreover, it is important to note that regular exercise is crucial for maintaining overall health and well-being."
After: "Exercise keeps you healthy. You already know that — the hard part is doing it on a Tuesday night."
Same meaning, completely different voice. That's the whole game.
